How We Research the Island

We check them on the ground rather than copying them from another site, and we note the date of the check inside the article. When a detail is reported to us by a reader or an operator and we have not seen it ourselves, the article says that it is reported rather than observed.
Conservation Claims Are Handled Carefully
Turtle hatcheries and release activities on Serangan attract a great deal of loose language. We describe what a visitor can actually see and do, and we avoid asserting that a particular site meets a conservation standard unless that has been confirmed against an official source.
